Zip aims at storytelling the life of a professional figure in the design field, through the use of abstract and artistic language, whilst pushing the young people to get involved. The aims of the project are to unite (creating an active community of young artistically-driven people), inspire, storytell, create and invite (people to go off the grid and out of their comfort zone).
ISSUES



A call for collaboration precedes every issue. This call offers the participants to the project the opportunity to go beyond their limits, developing and publishing visual and written experiments that are inspired by the editorial team in each issue.




The concept of the project is allow yourself to go off the record: you do not need to align, but rather let yourself be guided by abstraction, moving away from the ordered, the classified and the stereotype. The public of the project are young art and design enthusiasts: the audience for the format includes all the young people who demonstrate an interest and particular curiosity for what their surroundings. These figures want to get culturally and artistically involved by their community, which allows them to get out of their comfort zones, to embrace the world of art and artistic experimentation.



Each issue discusses a specific theme of the professional figure, discovering them through different stages, as if the reader was to meet somebody new in real life: the issues give an overarching overview of this person and their profession. Therefore, the issues are divided according to this order: person, profession, desires and anecdotes and fear and manias.
BRAND MANUAL




The project’s brand identity, as well as the communication strategy, the project timetable and channels of divulgation are all explained in the brand manual of the project. Zip acts as a format project that can be replicated in different contexts, communities and locations. In this scenario, the brand manual comes proves useful to direct and instructs on the project’s specifications.






PROMOTION

The project is divided in three different stages:
Communication strategy ︎ based on graphics and images. The purpose of the strategy is to encourage people to get involved in the project, as well as start to set the tone of voice. The communication strategy incorporates a guerrilla marketing campaign across the city of Turin: this includes posters, stickers and cards.

Launch event ︎ this is an informal evening event that coincides with the start of the contributions to the project. During this event the editorial team explains the purpose, the concept and the call for the project. All the participants to this event will be given a tote bag containing issue #0; from here, the people that decide to get involved will actively partake in the next issues. For the whole duration of these two stages, social media will play an important role in developing the narrative of the project. As well, the website supports the issues by offering the opportunity to navigate through digital contributions such as audios, videos and so on, other than constitute the main platform for the dissemination of the project. Show ︎ after approximately 5 months, the project will end with a final show. During this time, the contributions to the issues will be displayed.
